Spring means crawfish season in Southeast Texas, and Old Town Tomball is throwing its biggest boil of the year. The 14th annual Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival returns to the Tomball Depot Plaza on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — and as always, admission and parking are completely free.
What to Expect
The festival transforms the Depot Plaza and surrounding streets into a Cajun celebration that draws thousands of crawfish and music lovers from across the Houston metro. Expect heaping piles of spicy boiled crawfish alongside a full lineup of Cajun-inspired food and beverages from local vendors.
Live music kicks off at noon and runs all afternoon, keeping the energy high while you crack shells and soak up the atmosphere.
For families, the Cajun Kids Zone offers activities for younger festival-goers — so bring the whole crew.
Getting There
The festival is located at 201 S. Elm Street at the Tomball Depot Plaza, right in the heart of Old Town. Free parking is available throughout the area.
If you’re making a day of it, the rest of Old Town Tomball’s shops, restaurants, and attractions are just steps away. Grab a coffee at Honor Society, browse the boutiques along Main Street, or cool off with a treat from Ultimate Shaved Ice — one of Old Town’s newest additions.
Mark your calendar: Saturday, April 25, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. See you at the plaza.
