Free pickles and dancing in the street. Then, a little after nine, a parade of lit-up floats rolls east down Main toward the Depot, and the sky over the railroad tracks catches fire.
For one Friday every August, Tomball Night takes over Old Town. Market Street fills with vendor tents, the shops prop their doors open and stay open, and three blocks of downtown belong to whoever shows up.
The Chamber’s 54th annual Tomball Night is Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5 to 10 p.m. Admission is free. Parking is free. Here’s everything you need to plan it.

Getting there and parking
Access to the side streets starts getting restricted at 2 p.m. — seven hours before the parade — so if you have a mid-afternoon errand in Old Town, do it early.

Free parking is easiest to find in three places: the lot on N. Elm at the railroad tracks (closest to the street dance), the lots in front of and behind City Hall at 401 Market St, and the Community Center lot at 221 Market. Side streets outside the closure ring work too. Everything is free — there is no paid parking anywhere in Old Town.
If those fill up, there’s more than you’d think. Turn on the Free parking layer above and you’ll see every public lot we track within a five-minute walk of the vendor booths — 22 of them, around 875 marked spaces between the ones we have counts for. Our parking map shows every public lot in Old Town, which ones are customer-only, and the handful of blocks with posted restrictions.
Old Town, block by block
This is the part the flyers don’t tell you: which of the shops you already know are staying open, and what they’re actually offering. Here’s the Old Town roster.
On Market Street, in the middle of the vendor booths:
- Bella Antiques (311 Market) — open until 10 p.m. with merchandise discounts, cold refreshments and snacks. The latest closing time on the street.
- Birds of a Feather Antiques & Vintage Marketplace (305 Market) — open late.
- Jayden Layne Boutique (314 Market) — hat and charm bar, plus in-store Tomball Night sales.
Just off the vendor corridor:
- Kirtley and Company Boutique (110 Commerce) — open until 8 p.m. with Tomball Night exclusives available in store only. It’s right on the street dance block.
- Grazeables (406 W Main) — open 4 to 10 p.m., free samples all evening, a free browned-butter krispie treat or Texican brownie with every custom box, and glow rings for the kids.
- The Peddler’s Pack Book Co. (408 W Main) — closes at 2 p.m. as usual, then re-opens 6 to 9 p.m. just for Tomball Night. New and used books, pre-loved vinyl, and gifts for the kids.
East on Main, past the tracks:
- Cornerstone Car Care (315 E Main) — August 7 only: $59.99 full-synthetic oil change, $39.99 synthetic blend, 10% off all repairs.
Outside Old Town, but worth knowing about. Five of the Chamber’s participating businesses share one Four Corners shopping center at 1417 Graham Drive, a bit over a mile from the festival area:
- Niky’s Mini Donuts — buy-one-get-one on 4-packs of mini donuts from 3 p.m. to close. Mention Tomball Night.
- Young Chef’s Academy — free intro class.
- Back Nine Golf — 50% off two-hour public tee times with code

Farther out on N. Eldridge Parkway, The Naked Cupcake is offering a free laser consultation and a complimentary underarm or upper-lip session all month.
All of these are a drive from the vendor area, not a walk — worth knowing before you plan your evening around one.
Live music, all night
Tomball Night has music in more places than the Chamber flyer lists, because Old Town’s venues book their own Friday nights. On August 7 you can walk between six separate shows:
- 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. — Dylan Matthews & Band, the new street dance, 100 block of Commerce Street. Free, outdoors, in the middle of everything.
- 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. — Tyler Hodgson at Tomball Social Haus, 209 Fannin. Country singer-songwriter in the cocktail lounge and biergarten, a block off the vendor area.
- 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. — Side Notes at 403 Eats — Behind The Fence, 403 E Main. Free concert, a short drive east.
- 8:00 p.m. — The Lovin’ Spoonful at Main Street Crossing, 111 W Main. Yes, that Lovin’ Spoonful. Ticketed, and it will sell out.
- 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. — London Lawhon at The Bluebonnet Wine Bar, 401 Commerce.
- 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. — Bronco Jr. at The Empty Glass, 104 Market. Closest show to the vendor booths.
And if you’re still out after the fireworks: Drifter’s Dive Bar (401½ Commerce) runs karaoke with DJ TJ from 9 p.m., its standing Friday night.

Health & Wellness Expo
The 11th annual Health & Wellness Expo runs 5 to 8 p.m. at the Tomball Community Center, 221 Market St — inside, air-conditioned, and a good first stop if you arrive early with kids.
It’s hosted by the Chamber’s Health & Wellness Committee with HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Tomball Regional Health Foundation, Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, North Houston Hearing Solutions, RISE Gym, Elite Home Health and LightWell Integrative Psychiatry. Expect interactive booths, prizes, a raffle drawing for a children’s bicycle, and the aforementioned free pickles — while supplies last.
The Parade of Lights and the fireworks
The Parade of Lights is in its 24th year and is the reason most people come. Floats, trucks, tractors and golf carts get strung with lights, line up at Baker Drive and FM 2920, and roll eastbound down Main Street starting at 9:15 p.m., finishing near the Peach Street end of Main by the railroad tracks. It’s about seven tenths of a mile long.
Where to stand: anywhere along Main works, but the stretch between Walnut and Elm puts you close to both the parade and the Depot, which means you don’t have to move for the fireworks. Arrive by 9 p.m. to get a curb spot. Bring a chair — the sidewalks fill.
The fireworks go up over the Historic Depot at roughly 9:45 p.m., right after the parade clears. The best open sightlines are from the Depot Plaza lawn and the Market Street end of S. Elm.
Know before you go
Can I still get a vendor booth?
No. The Chamber posted “WE ARE SOLD OUT — NO MORE VENDOR SPOTS” for 2026, and sponsor forms closed July 31. Booth registration for 2027 typically opens in the spring — call the Chamber at 281-351-7222 to get on the list.
What's the Mystery Shopper game?
Ten mystery shoppers roam the festival all evening, and per the Chamber's official Mystery Shopper Poem, they are “dressed in blue, red and white.” The first person to correctly identify one wins $100 on the spot, to spend at the booths that night. There's no sign-up — you just have to be paying attention.
Is it kid-friendly?
Yes. Kids activities run throughout the footprint, the Health & Wellness Expo has a children's bike raffle, and several shops are handing out free treats and glow rings. The fireworks are loud and late — if that's a problem, the parade at 9:15 is a natural stopping point.
